Praying the Psalms - Blog Logo

Thank you once again for joining me for a 2nd summer of Praying through the Psalms. This week I will be sharing several psalms that could be called “Missions Psalms”. We have had a team in Kentucky in July and we have typically gone to Uganda in this time frame. Our Uganda trip didn’t happen this year, but I still want to draw our attention these missions Psalms. I pray that God will use the Psalms to open our hearts to the need for missions all around us!

Psalm 67

To the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song.

67 God be merciful to us and bless us,
And cause His face to shine upon us, Selah
That Your way may be known on earth,
Your salvation among all nations.

Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy!
For You shall judge the people righteously,
And govern the nations on earth. Selah

Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
Then the earth shall yield her increase;
God, our own God, shall bless us.
God shall bless us,
And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

Send us out to the world all around us. We acknowledge that You are a missional God and yet we find ourselves so often comfortable within the walls of our churches. God, Your message of salvation is not for us alone. It is for the world all around us who need to hear the message of salvation. Forgive us for sitting in comfort while those around us pass into eternity without You. There are opportunities all around us each day where we can be on mission. We do not go to the far reaches of the globe because we believe Your servants cannot do the work in those regions. We go because we want to partner with them and to encourage them as they serve! Lord, our prayer as we seek to be on mission is that this will be SO much more about You than it is about us. As we set out, prepare us now for that reality! Let it be all about You.
