Psalm 31:1-5

In You, O Lord, I put my trust;
Let me never be ashamed;
Deliver me in Your righteousness.
Bow down Your ear to me,
Deliver me speedily;
Be my rock of refuge,
A fortress of defense to save me.

For You are my rock and my fortress;
Therefore, for Your name’s sake,
Lead me and guide me.
Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,
For You are my strength.
Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

Lord, today I am getting started with a statement of trust. I don’t know what the day holds, but I am beginning this day by saying that I trust You. I trust Your plan. I trust Your guidance. As I read this psalm today, I realize that David was asking for protection from those who were out to pull him down. Lord, help me to have that same trust in You – to not be concerned about those who are not always for what I’m doing. Lord, You are my rock and my refuge. That means I’m going to run to You when I face hard times. Because I’m saying that, I realize it means that You must also be my guide to lead me. I’m trusting that walking in Your plan is absolutely the best decision I can make today! You are Truth and Your Word is truth. Now let me show that belief with the way that I live today.
