The Blessedness of Answered Prayer
A Psalm. A Song at the dedication of the house of David.
30 I will extol You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up,
And have not let my foes rejoice over me.
2 O Lord my God, I cried out to You,
And You healed me.
3 O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave;
You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
4 Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His,
And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
5 For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.

As I read this Psalm today, I think about all of the ways that you have revealed Yourself in my own life. You have answered prayers in the life of my family, in my ministry, and in so many other ways. You have certainly “lifted me up” so many times. When I have been faithful in praying and seeking You, I’ve found You faithful. Lord, I am grateful that even when you are shaping me through trials, they have lasted only for a season. Thank you that in comparison to the joy that comes from knowing You, weeping seems like it’s only for a night. Lord, help me to show that kind of JOY today as I go about my day. I have every reason to be the most joy-filled person in the room because of Your grace and love.
